From beloved Sussex Spaniels who travelled to Rome with the 3rd Duke of Richmond to foxhounds with their own grand kennels, the Estate has a long history of four-legged companions.

Among them, Guh and Meh, two Pekingese given to the Duchess of Richmond in 1860, which incredibly, were two of the first Pekingese dogs ever brought to England!

Today, Goodwood’s longstanding affection for four-legged friends continues, with dog-friendly stays, cafes and restaurants, walks across the Estate, and of course, our grand celebration of all things dog: Goodwoof 🧡

Did you visit at this year’s Goodwoof? Over 200 of you took on the Discovery Drive Experience at Halnaker Chalk Pit, getting behind the wheel for an exciting self-drive across challenging natural terrain! 🐶

Plus, hundreds of guests took home bespoke caricatures of their dogs, sketched live, while also enjoying an exclusive close-up of the newest addition to the Discovery line-up.
