The Gruffalo is tomorrow June 1st at The Chapel Graylingwell 3.30 . Come and join us for fun and play ! 🎹😊👍

This coming Monday June 1st our story is one of the classics, Julia Donaldson’s ’The Gruffalo’.
To begin with we’ll create an entrance to the deep dark wood using green scarves, tissue paper and brown card.
Animal sounds will play as we quietly tiptoe into the wood and each child will have a Gruffalo explorers ticket.
Next we‘ll use musical instruments to make the sounds for each animal and children will move like the sneaky fox, a flying owl, a slithering snake a tiny clever mouse and of course a Gruffalo !
Woodland music will play and when it stops children will curl up like a mouse or freeze like a tree.
We’ll bring the story to life acting it out as we go along.
In arts and crafts children can make simple stick puppets of the animals or a Gruffalo mask or of course their own ideas.
Tomato pasta and drinks then a game ‘Gruffalo, Gruffalo, what’s the time ?” Dinner time !
If we’re outdoors, big bubble fun.
Please come and join us - and the Gruffalo 😊👍

On Monday May 18th we all enjoyed another great time at ‘Stories & Supper’ , The Chapel Graylingwell at 3.30 p.m.
our story was ‘Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive the Bus’. We used paper plates for steering wheels and pretended we were driving buses. We enjoyed the story and all called out, “DON‘T LET THE PIGEON DRIVE THE BUS !” We pretended we were the pigeon and got cross when we weren’t allowed to drive. We looked cross, crossed our arms, stamped our feet and tutted.
We created lovely things in arts and crafts - please see the photos of some of them. Then tomato pasta, parachute games, songs, what’s the time Mr Wolf and home time . Next Monday the 25th our story is, ‘What the Ladybird Heard’ By Julia Donaldson. A wonderful, joyful tale of Ladybird and her farmyard friends. Lots of interactive play and fun. Animal masks to make and games to play. It’s a Bank Holiday but we’re all there at the amazing Stories and Supper - come and join us !
