Westergate students unveil 40m mural celebrating local wildlife and the environment

🙌❤️🎨 This project was such a joy to work on with students and the local community - serving as an important reminder for years to come.

Young artists from Ormiston Six Village Academy expressed their love for nature and wanted to protect and celebrate the green spaces around them as well as local bins in Westergate village.

Artswork commissioned local artists to work with students in years 8 to 10 to bring the mural to life.

The finished 40m mural sits on the edge of the football pitches next to Aldingbourne Community Sports Centre.

In July, the mural was officially opened by Chair of Arun District Council, Councillor Jill Long and Councillor Sue Wallsgrove with representatives from the Parish Council, school and Community Sports Centre.

The project was funded by Arun District Council as well as public funding from Arts Council England and Aldingbourne Parish Council who helped to facilitate this project.

Birthday parties at .oakwood.escape 🎉🌿

For our little boy’s birthday, Jordan and his dad organised a bushcraft party at the beautiful Oakwood West Estate - filled with outdoor activities and challenges for a group of little adventurers. 🌳

5. Daily healing fooodz from the best family team 🥬 - Being unable to stand up or carry anything has its perks!

6. Venturing outside after the longest time, making the most of the accessible woodland & butterfly trail at Pulborough Brooks Nature Reserve 🌼

7. Little snippets of nature nestled in the South Downs 🪶 💜 we’ve escaped to the countryside for the summer whilst our house is being refurbed.

8. Jordan’s been busy building and decorating secret dens at the bottom of the garden with our two little people ✨🔨🪵

9. Mermaid book making - catching up on workshop themes with our very enthusiastic 7 year old who always wants to be involved 🧜‍♀️

10. House refurb is coming along slowly but surely! Iykyk…🐛
