What is 8 Bit Evolved Gaming?
So back in October 2016 we held our very first gaming event. This wasn’t just any ordinary event but one designed to be Autism friendly. ‘What does that mean?’ One of our first participants asked. It means that we want everyone who comes to our gaming events to have fun. Sometimes that can be difficult for people on the spectrum who struggle with change, social interaction, noise or communication. We wanted these events to focus on working towards helping our participants to enjoy getting into some thumb defining social gaming with like minded people who could respond in a fair way and they they could build friendships with. With the space to get a breather if it all got a little too exciting within a safe environment.
8 Bit Evolved Gaming is the little brother to Sparky Ink Studio an established business in Chesterfield; who themselves offer Multi-media workshops and experiences for people with Autism and other needs. Sparky Ink Studio began the Gaming events as a not-for-profit part of the business to give the events their own identity. 40+ events later and this is still going strong.
