We are thrilled to start our collabration with Chesterfield's new fabric shop!
Get to grips with sewing zips & boxed corners with this supportive, friendly in person workshop.

You will be shown the techniques step by step and then you will receive individual support to create your very own zipped and lined bag.

Techniques covered:
stitching seams
stitching corners
inserting lining
inserting a zip
creating boxed corners (so that your bag will stand up)
topstitching

Bring your own sewing machine, or book to borrow one of ours.

Including refreshments, friendly tuition and all materials
Please note fabrics will vary from those shown here, There are a selection of stripped and polcadot as well as planin polycotton fabrics to choose from.

There is free onstreet parking nearby

The bag is a toilet bag size, but you will see how easy it is to make another larger bag at home, even adding a strap. It could be used as a large pencil case.

They make great gifts so you will be able to make your own gifts.

I'm back and unpacked from the Festival of Quilts where I have been enjoying teaching workshops, an academy class and enjoying all the inspiration and creative chat 😍

There was a new category of competition quilt this year. - original design sponsored by where the design had to be wholly original and created entirely by the maker. Lots of discussion about how this category is judged purely on design.
I chose one of the quilts entered into this new category for my visitors choice vote - "Five Elements" by Katalin Horvath. I loved the design, construction and the way It involves a lot of different techniques, which, if you know me, I like combining in my work and teaching (including stitch and felting
I think it's
