Frustrating few weeks sorting a 6th band for this line up - now sorted and hopefully I’ll announce tomorrow once poster ok’ed. The slot has been hard to fill (as you would expect at short notice) and has been offered to 14 different bands who cannot make it due to various reasons of unavailability. I’ve put more hours updating socials, advertising and trying to fill this last slot than we’ve sold tickets so far. Which is where the problem lies… this has always been a strong line up that should sell tickets irrespective of another ‘headline’ act but ticket sales have not reflected that. The final slot could easily have been filled as band interest is high but, as myself and a few other promoters are starting to believe, the gig community is getting more demanding (even in indie up and coming circles) and you have to put one of the ‘big ticket’ bands on to get people to commit. Most of those ‘big ticket’ bands are impossible to get for us; for the handful of others you simply can’t just keep rotating them, plus, once they fall in the hands of booking agents, it makes it so much harder. So I’ve felt I’ve been putting myself in a position to try to find a band who can sell about 50 more tickets for this gig to hit the ‘just about acceptable but short of break even’ target and after reflecting on it, the realisation hit I’m now in danger of slipping away from why I started all this - to provide another stage to support up and coming bands - and instead trying to appease those who will only buy tickets for a handful of bands rather than coming irrespective of the line up. There are so many - not just a handful - of great bands out there right now that need our support and I’ll continue to do this until it gets to the point that the venue ever tells me I can’t as a result of ticket sales not being good enough.

We’ve not forgotten we’re lacking a band on this one still. It’s proving a little tricky due to availability of other bands at short notice to fill this 45 min headline slot. Currently got an offer in with a band so will keep you posted. In the meantime, keep buying tickets as the other 5 bands are absolutely fab 😍

2027! I’ve met up with the rest of the team and they’re up for keeping Indie Sessions going into 2027 so we’ve popped some dates in the diary.

BANDS/PROMOTERS/MANAGERS - I’ve had A LOT of interest in bands wanting to come to play! We’ve already got some amazing bands lined up to play next year plus bands wanting to return. Demand will outstrip the number of events.
