It was some show at St Michael's Church in Liverpool on Saturday!

The energy in the room was electric; C.W. Stoneking and his band were incredible, bringing blues, roots and timeless music to this stunning venue. Caitlin Gilligan opened the night, playing three different instruments accompanied by her beautiful voice, and Tom Blackwell gave us a fierce set of Americana music.

London's The Hanging Stars return with their sixth album, Just A Day – a dazzling collection of four-part harmonies, shimmering twelve-string guitars and chiming songs, touching on themes of longing, new beginnings and the fragility of the everyday. Parr is a folk troubadour in the truest sense: taking to the road between shows, writing and rewriting songs as he plays, fueled by a belief that music is eternal and cannot be claimed or adequately explained. The bluesman poet pulls closely from the sights and sounds around him, his lyrical craftsmanship built by his influences. The sounds from his working-class upbringing—including Folkways legends such as Lead Belly and Woody Guthrie—imbue Parr’s music with stylistic echoes of blues and folk icons of decades past.

This Thursday, we welcome three of Scotland’s finest musicians to St Mary's Creative Space, Chester.

Sam Grassie is a fingerstyle guitarist and songwriter who has built a reputation for dynamic live sets that traverse traditional folk, acoustic blues, and American primitive guitar music.

Robin Adams is a Glasgow-based singer-songwriter, drawing inspiration from the likes of John Martyn, Nick Drake and Bert Jansch, Adams has carved out a distinctive niche in the folk singer songwriter landscape.

Calum Gilligan is a folk singer-songwriter, born in Galloway and now based in Liverpool. Blending Celtic folk and Americana, his music draws influence from Woody Guthrie, Christy Moore, and contemporary folk artists such as Kris Drever and Kate Rusby.

We have two shows coming up with the incredible Jim Ghedi and his band!

Thursday, 25th June at Kazimier Stockroom in Liverpool with Toria Wooff and Caitlin Gilligan.

Sunday, 28th June, at The Green Room, in Stockton-on-Tees with Caitlin Gilligan and Tom Blackwell.

He has also written the score to the new Hugh Jackman film, The Death of Robin Hood, which comes out in June.
