The quiet little pockets of magic hidden amongst the excitement of children’s parties and events. The moment a child finally reaches their favourite character and melts into the hug they’ve been dreaming about.
A very wise mouse once taught me the most important rule of this job, one I carry into every single event: never be the first to let go of a child’s hug. Because you never truly know how much they needed that moment.
We hear the parents gently saying, “Okay sweetheart, time to let go now,” but we always encourage them to hold on for as long as they need. Because to that child, in that tiny moment, the world feels a little safer, a little brighter, and a little more magical.
To us, it’s never “just” a party. It’s the shy smiles, the sparkling eyes, the tiny hands reaching out for comfort, wonder, and joy. For those few seconds, nothing else matters except making that child feel seen, special, and completely wrapped up in the magic they believe in so wholeheartedly.
Sometimes I think even we as grown ups forget just how powerful those moments can be. But children remind us every single day - magic is real, especially when it’s shared with love. ✨
