Established in 2006, the Diversity Festival gives attendees including students, staff and members of the local community an opportunity to investigate, question and debate issues around diversity and equality in Britain and in the world at large. Over the past successful festival years we have been delighted to welcome high profile speakers such as John Barnes, Baroness Valerie Amos, Laura Bates,
Kellie Maloney, Dr Naomi Wolf, Baroness Oona King, Simon Weston OBE, Bonnie Greer OBE, and prolific human rights campaigner, Peter Tatchell. Previous festivals have also included a wide variety of lectures and workshops on matters relating to equality and diversity and performances from the highly acclaimed Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus and stand-up comedy group Abnormally Funny People, featuring Britain’s Got Talent Winner ‘Lost Voice Guy’.
