Take a look at Alex in the leading role of Edward in Pretty Woman at the Savoy Theatre!

As Alex’s other half in real life (as well as ACTivate), I could not have been prouder of him when I saw the show last week.

It’s clear that this is a really special company of actors and crew. The joy and energy of the cast during the bows was utterly uplifting and completely electrifying. Creative teamwork at its finest ✌️

Another week of ACTivate workshops draws to a close!

It’s been a fantastic few days and we’ve had a lot of fun. So much so that this wonderful student has put in a request to be excused from her family holiday over October half-term so that she can join our next holiday workshops!

The week for our older group culminated in their showing parents and siblings some of their work. There was huge excitement, anticipation and electricity and the sense of accomplishment that followed was palpable. It was fantastic to see these students walking out of the door with a spring in their step and celebrating their achievements together.

Finally, we were very lucky this week to be joined by the brilliant Ellie Parker (pictured on the next page). With Alex busy performing in Pretty Woman in London’s West End, Ellie stepped in to support our younger group during the latter half of this week. She has just completed her Masters degree at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and is clearly destined for great things. We look forward to working with her again in the future 🎈

We’re thrilled to have been supported by today to offer our ACTivate Imagination workshops to every year group at the brilliant !

It’s clear that this is a really special and unique school. The staff have worked tirelessly to give their students an incredible week of activities that frankly made Alex and I incredibly jealous…including an overnight camping trip on the school field! After everything they’ve been through this year, it was such a joy to see these kids excitedly rushing from one activity to another, with a spring in their step and beaming with enthusiasm.

Today was completely action-packed and around 200 students experienced our workshops! My highlight was overhearing a boy in year 4 bursting with excitement as he told his mum at the school gates all about what they’d been up to.

“There was a man and he actually turned into Miss Trunchball. He did, it was amazing!”

That’s the kind of review we’re here for 🤓

Our best attempt at a selfie this morning!

Thank you to for hosting our Finding Your Voice workshop for Year 8 today. It was a joy to see a whole yeargroup working together, supporting one another and sharing in group reflection and feedback. They embraced our absolute favourite phrase - ‘put your head in the lion’s mouth’ 🦁

We wish them the best of luck with the rest of this year and beyond. They’re off to Bournemouth next week and we’re jealous… 🌊

Happy Birthday, Shakespeare!

In case you hadn’t guessed, we’re big fans 🤓

We’re really passionate about unlocking Shakespeare for young people. Our schools workshops bring the text to life and are designed to boost children’s engagement and comprehension of his writing. We dive into the worlds of Shakespeare’s stories with an imaginative and action-packed practical exploration of the story and characters. (For more information about our Shakespeare workshops, head to our website - link in bio!)

In fact, Phoebe is such a Shakespeare fan that she travelled the world for two years with the Globe’s touring production of Hamlet! During this extraordinary journey, a small team of 12 actors and 4 stage managers visited 197 countries, travelling 310,647 kilometres!

It was a unique privilege to see the power of theatre in action: to cross borders, transcend language barriers and connect people in different corners of the globe through a shared experience of a play written 400 years ago.

Here’s the moment that the actors performed excerpts of the play for President Obama on the Globe stage on 23rd April 2016☀️

Over and out! ✌️

We’ve loved working with these two brilliant groups this week. (In fact, we were having such a great time that we forgot to get a group photo of our older group!)

We took a big leap last year, moving from London in lockdown to build our lives and business up here. We’ve loved getting to know the wonderful families along the way so far and we’re starting to feel part of a really special community.

Thanks as always to parents for their continued support. Over the coming weeks and months as we all get back on our feet, we’ll be reaching out to make connections with local schools. If you think you might be able to help us in this area, please get in touch! 💕

What a happy scene! Some of our ACTivate students leaving this afternoon with a spring in their step and power in their pedals.

It’s been a wholesome day of imaginative play and invention! In particular, watching our students taking care of each other today has been so uplifting. We had a new member of our older group this afternoon. The way that each child went out of the way to make him feel welcome and included was truly wonderful. The older we get, the more we realise that we have such a lot to learn from our young ones ☀️
