General Manager of the Odeon Cinema, Chester, Laurie Hindmarsh in a press photograph, together with beauty queens, Gillian Bell and Julie Cheeseman, promoting ‘A View to a Kill’. Laurie arrived in Chester during 1985. A Yorkshire man, he had a long and varied background in cinema management, which included managing some of Odeon’s largest theatres at Bradford, Liverpool, Ashton Under Lyne, Southport and Scarborough before being appointed at Chester Odeon. He passed away on Monday 15th July 2024.

Projectionist, George Buckley, operating the original BTH type B projectors in the projection room at Chester Odeon during the heyday of cinemas in the mid 1940s.
