I know it’s still August 🙈 but… scarf season is coming, and my second one is ready! 🧣✨

Handmade from start to finish, this one began with beautiful black Shetland fleece, blended with just a touch of merino in fiery red, orange and yellow. 🐑🔥 100% natural fibres.

Spun, woven and finished by me — carefully, patiently and with a lot of love. ❤️

My newly completed handwoven scarf. 🧶

Simple, timeless and versatile — the kind of piece that works just as well with jeans and boots as it does with something a little more polished.

This one is a little different from most of what I create at Tamed Ewe: it’s woven from commercial acrylic yarn from my stash, rather than my handspun yarn.

I’m a big believer in using what I already have, so this was one more stash yarn given a new life on the loom.

And because it’s acrylic, this scarf is vegan-friendly too. 💚

A little something different from Tamed Ewe… 🧶

This scarf started with yarn that had been sitting in my stash for quite some time. Not handspun. Not fancy. Just a lovely oatmeal-coloured acrylic yarn that I already had — and I really don’t like waste.

So I decided to give it a new life on my loom.

And yes, I know… it’s simple. No dramatic colour changes, no wild art yarn, no complicated pattern.

But sometimes simple is exactly what I’m looking for.

Timeless.
Elegant.
Easy to wear.
And, most importantly, made from something I already had rather than buying more.

And apparently, it passed the very strict quality control of Jay and India. 🐈‍⬛🐈

I’m learning that creating sustainably doesn’t always mean making everything from scratch. Sometimes it simply means using what you already have — and making something beautiful from it.
