Brand new vlog! Check out our latest trip to Alton Towers.

A better day at Alton Towers?

After a few disappointing visits recently, this trip felt like a real improvement. Operations were much smoother, queues were more manageable, and the overall atmosphere in the park was great.

It wasn’t perfect, with a couple of coasters still having minor issues, but overall this was one of the best days we’ve had here in a while.

Things are definitely moving in the right direction.

Having an unreal day at Alton Towers so far 🎢🔥

Operations have been spot on today – queues moving fast and everything running smoothly. Such a big improvement from last year 🙌

For many guests, this entrance is their first impression of the park… and this giant screen has been completely blank all season.

🎢 Thorpe Park used to have this screen running with ride promos, safety info, even live updates — now? Just a massive black box above your head.

It was working last year. It added atmosphere, energy, and excitement the second you walked through the gates. Now it just feels… unfinished.

A park experience starts before the first ride. Little things like this go a long way.

Hyperia mini rug at Thorpe Park: £18

Same style, same size — but a £3 difference.
Understandable with a new ride, but it does raise the question: are we starting to see premium prices for all things Hyperia?

It’s a cool souvenir, no doubt — but is it worth more than the classic Smiler one?

📍Spotted: New nylon wheels in action. Yes, they’ve sped up the ride and reduced rollbacks — but at what cost?

🌀 That signature floaty stall moment? It’s not hitting the same anymore. The weightlessness feels shorter, tighter… arguably less iconic.

Sure, the faster dispatches and smoother runs are a win for operations — but for the riders chasing that perfect airtime, it’s sparking a proper debate.

🟢 Grass > Bark? Maybe… but only if it’s looked after!

Swapped bark for turf in the Hyperia queue area — it definitely looks cleaner and more modern at first glance. But what’s going on with the maintenance? 👀
Patches of worn-out grass, random pipe sticking out like a tripping hazard, and bits of litter don’t exactly scream “premium experience.”

For an attraction as hyped and groundbreaking as Hyperia, this space deserves better. Little details matter — especially when the queue line is part of the overall experience.
