Meet our latest duty team member & games designer, Libby Jacques ♟️✨

Alongside working at The Boat House Gallery, Libby also runs The Island Society🌴 a Welsh brand creating screen-free games inspired by travel, storytelling, and time spent together.

“The idea came from family- all the card games they’ve taught me. In this digital age, will we still pass them on?”

A roll-up travel chess set designed to be taken anywhere, to a “Hangman Kraken”, a pocket-sized travel game with a nautical twist, and a growing range of games and gifts designed to bring people away from their screens.

“My family has a long history of wildly exciting travels. Growing up on a farm locally, these stories inspired a bigger idea of escape. The brand is an oasis.”

Time to meet a well-loved maker & duty team member, Lesley Licqurish 💛

Licqurish Designs is a collection of handmade bags, handbags and accessories created by Lesley Licqurish, in her small workshop in the beautiful Forest of Dean.🌳

“My creations are primarily made using high-quality faux leather, carefully combined with colourful fabrics to give each piece its own distinctive character. Every item is individually handcrafted, making it as unique as the person who carries it.”

“My bag-making journey began over 12 years ago with simple patchwork bags. Since then, I have continually developed my skills, challenging both myself and my sewing machine to create increasingly sophisticated, stylish and practical designs. Today, I take great pride in producing beautiful handmade accessories that combine craftsmanship, creativity and attention to detail.”

“Based in Llanishen in the stunning Wye Valley, I create colourful gemstone jewellery designed to bring joy to everyday dressing. Inspired by nature and the uplifting spirit of dopamine dressing, each piece is thoughtfully handmade using vibrant gemstones.

What began as a creative escape from the busy life of raising three young sons has grown into a passion-led business, with my collections now proudly stocked in local craft shops across the area.”
