Our first trainer for 2026 is here — and what a way to start.

Meet Clive Johnson.
With over 25 years spent understanding how horses truly think, Clive is the founder of Clive Johnson Horsemanship and a Level 2 Western Equestrian Society instructor who’s trained across America alongside some of the greats — Buck Brannaman among them. His real gift is connection: a calm, kind and genuinely effective way of building trust between horse and rider.

Here’s where to catch him at Hartpury:
• Main Arena — why connection matters, and how the Western approach helps you build a real bond with your horse
• Second Arena — a full roping demonstration, and a brilliant new activity to take home to your own horse
• Round Pen Talk Zone — the floor is yours for a relaxed Q&A, plus a look at his confidence-building retreats

We are SO excited to announce Thea Harkness of Thea Equestrian as a trainer at the British Liberty Show 2026 — and she’s bringing serious fun, inspiration, and boundary-pushing energy with her.

At just 14 years old, Thea is proving that anyone of any age can begin the journey into liberty and natural horsemanship. Her work shows that connection can start as play — and that learning with horses doesn’t have to be heavy or intimidating.
