Like many cultural organisations, Cheltenham Festivals is a not-for-profit organisation registered both as a charity and as a company limited by guarantee. It is responsible for the annual Cheltenham Jazz, Science, Music and Literature Festivals. It also runs extensive education and outreach programmes, many to local schools and communities. Day one saw join us to talk about his career, his memoir The Queerest of Folk and the stories that have shaped his work. 📺

In this clip, Russell shares that Tip Toe, his 2026 psychological thriller miniseries, was greenlit by Channel 4 in just seven days flat – a rare turnaround that showed just how important the story was.

Despite its dark subject matter, Russell shares how making the series was an incredibly positive experience. 🎬

A fascinating insight into the stories that matter and the people who bring them to life. 💭
