GOOD NEWS FOR GOOD FRIDAY!

You will know that last October the Playhouse was unsuccessful in its application for £50,000 from the Culture Recovery Fund administered by Arts Council England. We were overwhelmed at the astonishing and generous response to this disappointing news and over the next three months received over £26,000 in donations to help us. This incredible generosity allows us to get through this third lockdown without dipping further into our reserves which we have had to use quite considerably having only been able to open for three of the last 13 months.

We're VERY pleased to tell you that today we have been awarded £54,700 from the second round of the Culture Recovery Fund. It means we can reopen based on the roadmap and survive with socially distanced audiences until - all being well - things return fully to normal for us with the autumn season of local community theatre groups who can't wait to start rehearsing this summer.

Our application was created with our friends at The Quirky Orange and Alex Chalk MP certainly went to bat for us with the Culture Secretary and Arts Council England; we're very grateful to them, as we are to you for your continued support during these difficult times.

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to announce that our Rescheduled 2020 Show on 24th April has been further Postponed with a new date TBA.

Sadly the latest government Lockdown and no idea of when Theatres may reopen again we sadly have no other option but to postpone at the moment.

If you have already purchased tickets The Playhouse will be in touch with you directly to discuss your options or you can contact them directly.

The Missy Malone & Friends Burlesque R***e would like to take this opportunity to clearly state our support for the Black Lives Matter movement.

We are a proud and diverse family of artists and production crew members.

That being said we are continually learning, adapting and striving to do better.

We are taking this current moment in time to educate ourselves further, stand up to show our support and use our voice to vocalise.
