Today - May 29th - of Bleak Moments & Q&A with Mike Leigh!
Mike Leigh's first film in 1971 set him off on the cinematic journey that has seen him become one of the UK's most admired and acclaimed directors, with a wide range of subjects all examined with incisive precision. Described as a masterpiece on its release, Bleak Moments is one of the most impressive debuts of the last 50 years. Mike Leigh will attend the screening for a Q&A.

This tremendous movie is about a young woman who decides to save her sister from an international s*x trafficking ring. Two sisters are separated by their father's decision to sell one of them. The film follows the young women as they are shipped from India to Hong Kong and eventually the USA. The film casts light on an especially shocking aspect of modern life.
