- AN UPDATE -

I hope you all well! :)
If you haven't heard a post was made by the University of Gloucestershire. They have informed us Third Years of 2019-2020 of the move of our Graduation Day with the working date of 4th-7th May 2021 at Cheltenham Racecourse; (I assume the different days refer to the different schools in the University).
The reason behind this was there was a communication from fellow 3rd years in our Uni saying that we did not want our graduation 'Socially Distanced' and we did not want this measure to effect our Graduation and the quality of it.
While I am happy with this decision overall, and with the main aim of this move back is to have our Ceremony as normal as possible.
This puts the Hatherley Manor venue idea into a more interesting situation. In hindsight, as many of you said the weather being late in the Spring, is much more ideal than a Winter Graduation (Nov 2020).
If anyone has any ideas, on how we can approach the steps above or if anyone has any additional ideas, let me know as always by messaging myself or posting on this page. As I strongly believe especially now that our Graduation has been moved it needs to be an even bigger celebration of our achievements over the past 3 years, than any prior, and with that being said, paying close attention to the guidance of the Government Guidelines and the Law.
I am still up for the Hatherley Manor Venue Idea, but if the University of Gloucestershire has moved our graduation ceremony to next year, then it would only make logical sense to move the Hatherley Manor Venue for us Third Years near that Time, either slightly before or after or even during Graduation.
Of course, this will add an extra step, in regards to the new time and date of this venue, and with how everyone is getting to the graduation day, (transportation) and also if parents and/or guardians will be accompanying you to the Manor and staying or will drop you off, and if they drop you off what will they do, etc.
As now I am not sure if this will be students only, and to possibly open the venue to students and their family members.
While I like both options greatly, both has its pros, the later especially would have much more booking complications, hence the initial idea was to keep it, Students Only with Key Staff as an optional. I hope you can picture and see both my conflict to involve family members but at the same time realizing that this Venue is meant to primarily be for us, the students.
My theoretical solution at least to the time is this, I am going to presume that the Graduation will start probably in the morning/early afternoon. In this case, we could possibly host the venue a few hours after the ceremony finishes. Of course, we need much more information and probably won't update this page until we know much more details of our Graduation which means I might not even update this page until early 2021 unless to answer your questions.
