ACOMEDY CLUB CHELMSFORD – THURSDAY 2ND JULY – AIR-CONDITIONED COMEDY WITH NO TRACES OF FOOTBALL!

We’ll level with you – it’s not easy selling tickets for a comedy night in the summer, let alone in a heatwave – but here’s a few reasons to come to our show this Thursday (2nd July):
• ACanteen has amazing air-conditioning – save using all the cool-air electricity at home and come down and have some of ours
• There will be no football on! In fact we’ll even ask the comedians not to even say the F-Word (well not that one – no promises with regard to the other one). England won’t be playing on 2nd July anyway
• It’s our last show until October

Ian Smith is his name, and he has been described as “one of the best you will see *****” by The Daily Mirror and “an effortlessly brilliant stand-up show” by The Scotsman. We think he’s going to be a comedy superstar. Not only do we have Ian, but a sublime supporting line-up of comedy talent in the form of Otiz Cannelloni, Chris Norton-Walker, Sam Picone and Maple Zuo. All shambolically held together by resident MC Paul Merryck.

AComedy Club Chelmsford 4th June – Jeff Innocent returns!

Summer is here, or it will be soon, probably, and we have one of our all-time favourites coming back to AComedy Club Chelmsford on 4th June after 2 years, our old friend and one of the finest comedians in the UK, the fantastic Jeff Innocent.

Here are some words about Jeff:
"It should be made law that every British Citizen should go and see Jeff Innocent. He’s that funny" The Evening Standard

Multi award winning comedian Jeff Innocent has reached legendary status among his peers and audiences alike by staying at the top of his game for almost 3 decades.

His unique appeal lies in the contrast between his East End 'geezer’ appearance and demeanour, and his educated, philosophical delivery and culturally relevant subject matter.

Always original, he continues to cement his position within the history of British stand up comedians with his regular performances on the UK and world live comedy circuit and has recently acquired a whole new generation of fans, through his online viral video clips.
In 2024 Jeff embarked on his debut nationwide tour ‘Smart Casual’ at the age of 68 after having been a regular headliner on the UK comedy circuit for more than 27 years.

He is currently in the process of writing his next tour show and his debut special was released 27th March 2025.

Not only do we have Jeff, but a brilliant supporting line-up in the form of Paul F Taylor, Dave Chawner, Madeleine Brettingham and Patrick Brusnahan All shambolically held together by resident MC Paul Merryck.
