We are once again inviting interested artists to apply for the role of Artistic Director.
We are an amateur company whose aim is to set professional standards for all our work. We are based in Chelmsford and are a not for profit organisation, whose dedicated team are all volunteers.
The role of the Artistic Director is to develop, guide & uphold the artistic mission of The Chelmsford Ballet Company. The person fulfilling this role has to be an experienced, qualified and, ideally, practising dance professional, who will contribute the development and reputation of the Company by using their excellent artistic and interpersonal skills. They should be conscientious and committed to maintaining and developing the high standards of the Company and its productions and, to the overall aims and management of the Company and its contribution to the local community.
The Artistic Director should be imaginative and creative, looking to the development of the Company in the next decade and beyond. They should be competent in creating & maintaining good working relationships with national and local providers of dance and performing arts education. This can not be an extension of their own dance school if they have one, as we have always maintained an impartial opinion & dancers are auditioned via a panel of professionals from a dance background.
