Astara Dance & Theatre School

Astara Dance & Theatre School The aim of Astara is to give children an opportunity to express themselves freely and creatively wit To all our Astara students We Love You! It was my life.

Some of you are all grown up now and on your own path but I do hope that your time at Astara gave you moments and memories you will never forget. Dancing, singing and acting were always my biggest passions in life and Astara was my baby, before the birth of my son. Watching children and women grow in confidence and express their true authentic selves was the most rewarding part of running Astara.

We had incredible teachers and such beautiful creativity inspiring the children and touching the hearts of the audiences. And then other areas of life took over, probably so I could rebalance, in a painful yet strangely beautiful way. Spirituality and healing and family life became very important after a few intense traumatic events. I was getting the feeling to reduce the company which had naturally risen to 56 classes a week! Plus the Astara Parties company too which kept us extremely busy. I listened to my intuition and then 2020 happened a couple of years later. Dancing and singing on zoom just felt inauthentic. It was time to close Astara down. I'm glad I did. I would never agree to making students stand 2 metres apart! This is not freedom and goes against everything I believe in. Astara still lives in my heart and I shall cherish everything that was created and all the joy that manifested. I'm now in a place where I am finding out who I am, ready to venture into something new and exciting. A new chapter is on the horizon. And I am going into this new chapter with the connection to Jessie (Miss Jess). Her soul's mission was to make the world dance, which she did with pure joy and positivity. I know I need to continue with her mission. Self expression, freedom, creativity, joy, fun and connection is essential. It is Astara at it's core and it will be the essence of any future creation. Thank you to everyone who co-created with me.

Anyone who comes to the workshop on the 2nd June will be invited to perform in a dance flashmob in Chelmsford. It's part of the Chelmsford Festival but the first year of celebrating dance specifically.

This is the perfect opportunity.

We would love you to dance with us so please save the dates for now. More info to follow...

It's taken a few days before I've been able to write anything.

Most of you will know already of the devastating news of the passing of Jess/Miss Jess/Jessie/Miss Pink πŸ’”

Jess was my best friend for years, we met at dance college. She was always the entertainer, being daft and making people laugh. Fate brought us back together when she moved to Chelmsford. Our visions were aligned and she joined the Astara team.

Her cancer diagnosis never held her back. Her mind was strong and she always chose the path of positivity. That smile. Sort of transforms you from the inside. So she impacted hundreds, if not thousands of people through her love of dancing and her encouraging outlook on life. As a friend to many she would offer her support. She would see a problem and naturally find the solution. I loved her mind and the way she would come up with an idea and just do it! She was confident, quirky, one of a kind and she knew how to lighten your mood.

One of the things she desired most was to become a mumma herself. Another rollecoaster journey for her which resulted in two beautiful girlies, Starla and Aquila. She got her dream x 2!

There is so much to say about Jess and at the same time I don't know what more to say now.
It's still so hard to believe she has gone.

For any of you that were taught by Jess at Astara, I hope you will remember how much joy it brought Jess to be your guide. Perhaps you will pop on a song that reminds you of her and dance your heart out?

That's one way to keep connected to her special soul.

Jess you were and are still so loved. Your spirit lives on and on through us, in joy and expression.

You shall never be forgotten.

A great way to support our children is with self awareness tools and techniques... taught in a fun and engaging way of course ;-)

(Ahh that's why I spent 8 years entertaining at children's parties!)

We hope this half-term workshop will be captivating and inspiring, as we pass on lots of knowledge, downloads and helpful tools to support our children in becoming more conscious.

I am also very excited for the goodie bag ;-)

How beautiful each and every one of these souls are πŸ™ not only are they kind and caring and treat each other like a family. They are pretty awesome on stage too and have the ability to inspire and uplift their audiences.

I am truly proud of them and our equally gorgeous teachers 😍😍😍
