The Happy Chorus Community singing group every Friday during term time. 12.45-1.45pm at Broomfield Village Hall. £3 per session.

We hope you love our new branding! Welcoming new members! We begin our new term today!

When? Fridays during school term time between 12.45 and 1.45 pm.

Where? At Broomfield Village Hall,158 Main Rd, CM1 7AH. This hall is very close to The Cheerful Chai cafe where people can go for a drink or treat after choir and continue the fun. (If they want to!). There is free parking and close bus stops.

What?! A singing group created to spread a whole load of happiness and joy in the Chelmsford area. The last year since Linda left has proved, more than ever, what a great community we have built. Everyone has really chipped it to keep the group running.

Why? Because singing is amazing. Particularly singing with others has been shown to improve mental health and well being.

Who? The Happy Chorus is totally inclusive so absolutely anyone can come, whatever your singing ability or experience. You are very welcome to bring small children / babies / older relatives / friends. Just anyone who wants to come and sing!

'Subs' are £3 (cash only) a week. We use this money to pay for the hall hire as well as sourcing music and lyric sheets etc.

Following on from our "new" name, we will be having a full rebrand from September! So it's a perfect time to reintroduce ourselves.

We chose to tweak our name from "community choir" as we felt "choir" wasn't an accurate representation of our group. We aren't trying to be perfect or famous, its just about like minded people getting together to sing and socialise.

Another year of singing completed! Our wonderful Wendy wrote some particularly lovely words about our group so I thought I'd share here

"With Linda's departure we really didn't know if we could keep the 'Happy Chorus' running , however thanks to everyone in this lovely community we have managed to see the year out with new members & the wonderful sound of voices singing together.

Thank you to everyone for your contribution it really is a joy when we are singing together & seeing how much we are all enjoying ourselves.
A few names to mention:
Matt - A mind of musical knowledge & teaching experience. Some great songs & the introduction of singing in rounds.
Jemma - sharing the lead with Matt & organising & printing all our words.
Alice, Naomi & Vix - Leading sessions when needed & Vix for organising our lovely new folders.
Colin - our resident DJ who has all our backing tracks ready to roll in several different formats."

And of course a big thank you to Wendy for being in charge of all the hall bookings and being our treasurer!

We will be back in September, our first session will be Friday 4th. Have a great summer!

It's been a while so thought we should do a post to reintroduce The Happy Chorus Choir!

What?! A singing group started in 2022 to spread a whole load of happiness and joy in the Chelmsford area. We have a small admin team and have built such a wonderful community. We get together, learn some songs, few harmonies no pressure and just have fun.

Why? Because singing is amazing. Particularly singing with others. We want The Happy Chorus to be totally inclusive so absolutely anyone can come, whatever your singing ability or experience. All ages are welcome and you can bring small children / babies - there will be toys out for them to play with. Just anyone who wants to come and sing!

When? Friday lunchtimes between 12.45 and 1.45 pm. During term time only.

Where? Broomfield Village Hall which is next to a lovely playground and The Cheerful Chai cafe where people can go for a drink or treat before/after choir.

'Subs' are £3 a week to cover costs.
