Yes the children have just gone back to school but before you know it, half-term will be here! So I’m pleased to announce my Halloween inspired ARTventures!

I’ve listened to your feedback and workshops are now available for ages 4-11 so siblings can attend together.

Also there is the option to stay all day including both workshops and a supervised lunch break meaning working parents have greater flexibility!

Prepping a few wreath examples for my botanical watercolour workshop in a couple of weeks - couldn’t resist the autumn colours that are starting to appear 🍁

Pretty chuffed with this pup painting! 🐶

Painting faces and animals are totally out of my comfort zone but always happy to give things a go when I’m asked.

I helped myself out by creating a vector image on Canva so I could focus on areas of light and dark rather than thinking of specific facial features.

I also did trace the outline to help get the composition and proportions right. Tracing is such a valuable tool when you learning to draw unfamiliar subjects and helps build the muscle memory!

I then built up from light to dark as you can always get darker but it’s trickier going the other way. Also tried to be bold adding areas of shadow as it brings the subject off the page and gives it 3 dimension.

Finally going super dark for the nose and eyes brings the little character to life!
