Hi, I want to wish all our American cousins, Happy Independence Day. An American friend asked me a while back why the Brits don't celebrate this day. lol This was not a war we won, the independence you got, was from the UK :) that said a very happy Independence Day! No hard feelings :)

Something personal to me. Do you ever have a day, when you wake up and wonder what the heck you are doing?
This is not a new thing for me, it happens all the time. On getting up you are not sure of the day, or sometimes even month. It all, of course, comes back into focus, usually along with the first coffee of the morning. But that first initial confusion is very disconcerting. I did phone the British Alzheimers helpline, to ask if it was the start of something. They were very helpful. They asked a few questions like, Do you work over 40 hours a week? Do you lead a busy life? Do you find yourself finishing other people sentences? Do you drink four gallons of coffee an hour? Questions along those lines. Of course, my answer to all the questions was yes, making me an impatient grumpy bastard. The lady very kindly told me that a lot of people that leas busy stressful lives suffer from forgetfulness, and that I shouldn’t worry.

I guess the reason for writing this is to reach out to my fellow espresso junkies and offer these words of wisdom… When on your fourth espresso of the morning, and you see a deadline looming, when the e-mail arrives and the person asks, “Why am I not your top priority…”
Sit back, smile, lean back in your chair and have a biscuit with your coffee.
