Thornden Community Wind Band presents The Big Sound of Summer on 26th June - an exciting evening of wind band music featuring internationally acclaimed tuba virtuoso Les Neish.
In this special concert, the band and Les come together for a spectacular programme showcasing the extraordinary versatility of the tuba. From the rich autumnal colours of October to the radiant serenity of Glimpse of Paradise and the fiery drama of Inferno, this is an evening bursting with energy, colour, and musical storytelling - and you won’t want to miss a moment of it!

Some of Hampshire's finest and best young talent will be on full display on Thursday 25th June, with the Finalists of the Wi******er Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist Competition 2026 competing for the Young Soloist Trophy and other prizes each playing a full concerto accompanied by the long-established orchestra.
