As we approach the end of the year, we wanted to take a moment to look back at the 2025 Whiddon Autumn Festival.

WAF continues to grow year upon year, and 2025 was no exception. We enjoyed fifteen wonderful events spread across five days and we were delighted to see several of these sell out.

It was a joy to welcome back many WAF regulars, including festival favourites Corvus Consort, vocalist Matthew McKinney, pianist Harry Baker and our very own Festival String Quartet.

There were WAF debuts for special guests the Delphine Trio and singer-songwriter The Magic Lantern, and our 2025 Composer-in-Residence Ben Nobuto delighted audiences with three brand new works.

That’s a wrap! 🥲 The Whiddon Autumn Festival is officially over for another year. Thank you so much for joining us.

We’ve had an amazing few days packed full of really special performances from our festival artists. Thank you to everyone who came along to one or more of our events — it was a delight to see all of the venues so full and we hope you agree that it made for a truly magical atmosphere.

Preparations have begun for WAF 2026, which will take place 16–20 Sept. If you’ve got the post-festival blues and are already looking forward to next year make sure to get the dates into your diary!

🍁 TONIGHT !!! 🍂

Winner at London’s prestigious ROSL competition, the Delphine Trio is fast making a name for itself on the UK’s chamber music scene.

Founded in 2020 at the Royal College of Music in London, the Delphine Trio displays a combination of individual instrumental talent, intelligent and curious music-making, and a passion for diverse repertoire. The trio brings together three passionate young musicians from opposite ends of the globe: Australian clarinetist Magdalenna Krstevska, Dutch cellist Jobine Siekman and pianist Roelof Temmingh, hailing from South Africa.
Their programme is a mesmerising showcase of the great variety of music available to this unique combination of clarinet, cello and piano.

Catch them at Moretonhampstead Church this evening, 8pm. 🎼

If you can’t catch Compline tonight at 9pm in Gidleigh Church, then join us tomorrow for A Million Nightingales. The voices of take to the skies for a bird’s-eye view of choral music, with a special guest appearance from the WAF Children’s Choir. Corvus Consort will also perform the remarkable Sol by our Composer-in-Residence Ben Nobuto an ingenious work for which Ben was awarded the prize for Best Choral Composition at the Ivors Academy Awards 2023.

Join us on Sunday 21st September, for a Come&Sing in the wonderful village of Chagford!

Open to all, whether you can read music or not, and you’ll have the opportunity to sing in a concert alongside world-class musicians that evening in Chagford Church.
