What if music had to be seen, not heard?
For Deaf people, songs can come alive through rhythm, movement and British Sign Language. Two young women from Castle Douglas want to help make that possible.
Freya and Poppy’s project “Welcoming Hands – Bringing Us Together” has reached the public voting stage of the Her Voice, Her Choice fund.
After struggling to communicate with a Deaf guest at a youth event, they decided to do something about it. Their idea is to learn and share British Sign Language at the Crannog and build a team of BSL Ambassadors spreading inclusive communication across the Stewartry.
Castle Douglas Development Forum is proud to support Freya and Poppy and their amazing idea — but they need your vote to secure the funding.
If you are a girl or young woman aged 12–25 who lives, works or studies in Dumfries & Galloway, please help make this happen.
👉 Voting is open now until 12 noon on Wednesday 25th March.
