Arnside Maritime Singing Festival Sun 16 August

Enjoy a day of sea shanties and maritime singing in the scenic coastal village of Arnside with views to the Lakeland Hills. There will be singing on the Pier and in the Sailing Club historic clubhouse in an old customs bonded warehouse.

This year the festival features:
Pressgang Munity - from Canada
Muldoon's Picnic - from Scotland
Richard Grainger - from the North East Coast
As well as local sea shanty groups.

Rebecca Clare Douglas and Richard Moss are two outstanding folk musicians of the highest calibre. They perform traditional and original folk music based on the history and landscape of the North. They are not to be missed.

Clare is a classically trained violinist with a love for traditional music, whilst Richard is a skilled guitarist with a warm singing voice. Clare and Richard weave their talents together to create a sound rich in both technical mastery and genuine emotion, enchanting audiences with their artistry.

They met whilst performing with Mike Harding. They discovered a shared musical connection that blossomed into a unique artistic partnership. Steeped in the rich folk tradition the duo weave a captivating blend of both traditional and original tunes and songs.

They last played at the Clubhouse in October 2024.
