We are an Amateur Theatre Group based in West Walls, Carlisle Welcome to the official page of Carlisle Green Room Club, Carlisle's longest running Theatre.

The Club was started in 1952 by a small group of players who hired a small room in Carlisle to put on their productions. Now, 70 years later, we have our own 142 seat Theatre that puts on 7 productions a year plus outside hirings. We also have a club room which holds our bar for Club events and puts on our 'Theatre Downstairs' productions. We are a registered charity and run entirely by volunteers

. We have 170 + members who get involved in many different ways such as acting, directing, set design, front of house, sound & lighting and much much more. We are always looking out for new members and you'll always be given a warm welcome!

Keeping Up Appearances – The Stage Play

Written by Roy Clarke | Directed by Jason Munn

Based on the beloved British sitcom by Roy Clarke, Keeping Up Appearances – The Stage Play brings the hilarious world of Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced “Bouquet”!) to life in a brand-new script written especially for the theatre.

Set in a modest church hall, this comedy-of-manners follows the ever-pretentious Hyacinth as she throws herself into two cultural events: a local art exhibition (featuring her own amateur painting, Willows by Moonlight) and an amateur dramatic society’s production still searching for a leading lady. Naturally, Hyacinth is determined to claim the most prestigious role – that of Lady Melvern – much to the horror of her long-suffering neighbour and reluctant director, Emmet.

As chaos unfolds, audiences are treated to appearances by Hyacinth’s eccentric family – including long-suffering Liz, the slobbish Onslow, sensual Rose, and droll Daisy – as well as quirky newcomers like the tech-savvy Milly, the formidable Mrs Debden, and of course Daddy!

A heartwarming and riotous look at British social climbing, family dysfunction, and theatrical ambition, this stage adaptation is a delightful homage to a cultural classic.

1960. Springvillehavenfieldtown, Florida. The dawn of the Space Race.

Joan Jones seems to have it made, but wouldn’t you know it, there’s something missing - and she’ll be damned if she knows what it is. UNTIL.... One day, she encounters Curtis Curtis, to the locals an undesirable, and to a disgraced cosmoscientist, a target. This causes her to look beyond a world where she has to conform, to the stars around.

Alligator Tears is an absurdist comedy from the duo that brought you 'Give Me Oil in My Lamp, Keep Me Tribal' and 'Twin Peaks: The Roller Disco'.

Recommended 15+.This show contains strong language and depictions of or references to s*x, violence, discrimination, and abuse.
