I've just sent 4 beautiful funeral flower memorials off to London
I would like to take you through the process
Firstly the flowers need to be sent as soon as possible, they then get placed into sleep in silica gel for 3 to 4 weeks.
They are checked around 4 weeks and if they are dry then they can be taken out of the silica
Each flower needs tapped until all the little beads are out.
The next step is the arrangement of the flowers which is then agreed with the client
Then the fun begins🫣
Slowly pouring the resin layer by layer each layer needs at least 6 hours between each pour I tend to leave them for 24 but that depends on how your day is.
When it is up to the top of the mould, I let them sit for a couple of days just to relax lol.
When I take them out of the mould they then need to be sanded down ready for flood coat of resin, this is when any little holes or issues can be sorted, it is then cleaned with alcohol spray.
The piece is then turned over and PVA glue is applied to the back this helps the resin not stick to the bottom of the piece
This can take 24-36 hours to dry.
Turn back the piece and they are placed onto little cups for height so the resin can fall easily into the tray
Then you can pour the flood coat, this covers the top and the sides and gives it an amazing shine.
Leave for 24 hours and then you can check that they are fully coated, I leave them for another 24 hours and then the most satisfying thing is peeling off the PVA glue, this gives you a nice clear back, then I polish them with high gloss resin polish.
They can then be packaged up and sent to their new home.
The whole process takes up to 8 weeks.
But definitely worth the wait
Personalised memorials are available on my Etsy store

It doesn't have to be a lot of flowers just that one special flower that could be preserved forever
