What is it?

A relaxed and friendly acting session where like minded people can meet, share skills, try acting and improv games, and learn from each other. This is a shared session rather than a formal class, with a loose structure and opportunities for participants to contribute ideas if they wish.

Plan for the Day

11:00-11:30 Welcome, introductions & warm up games

11:30-12:45 Acting games - Making Connections

12:45-13:15 Lunch break (bring your own if you wish)

13:15-14:40 Improvisation games & scene work

14:40-15:00 Closing games & group reflection

What to expect

A welcoming and supportive environment. No pressure to perform. Take part as much or as little as you feel comfortable. Meet other local actors and creatives. Learn from each other in a relaxed setting.

Practical notes

This is a shared activity rather than a facilitator led workshop. Everyone helps create a respectful and supportive space.

Young people aged 13-18 are welcome if accompanied by a participating parent or guardian. Parents/guardians remain responsible for supervising their child throughout. All activities will be suitable for the whole group.

Cost: £10-£15 depending on numbers (to cover room hire).

What do we mean by Making Connections?

Simple interactive games focused on communication, awareness, trust, and working naturally together as a group.

Carlisle Acting Meet-Up 🎭

Anyone interested in acting! Beginners, experienced actors, professionals, or anyone curious to give it a try.
(18+ only)

What?
A relaxed, friendly meet-up with acting games, theatre exercises, and improv activities.
A chance to share skills, try new things, and learn from each other in a supportive environment.

Why?
To meet like-minded people, build confidence, have fun, and hopefully grow a regular Carlisle acting group together.
