We loved spotting the Union banner that unites two cities: If you ever find it's not on display in Tullie it's likely to be on a march over in Durham.

Two favourite cities that Scribbles loves.

When you visit the Carlisle's Unity Festival look out for the beautiful steam engine drawn on Scribbles by a talented visitor (who was wearing a Carter Steam Fair jacket) to Two Tales, the Seven Stories The National Centre for Children's Books pop-up shop.

Find a space and add your own mark on the PINC LGBT+ Youth - Pride in North Cumbria award-winning community art, that was created for World Fun Fair Month, and is uniting people of all ages from across the UK.

You are invited to help shape plans for Carlisle's celebration of World Fun Fair Month 2026.

What would you like to see/help create?

Last year there were:

Shops transforming their window with all the Fun of the Fair.

Community art competitions.

Golden statues walking and cycling around the city centre.

Talks from Showmen.

Book readings and storytelling.

Lego building and candyfloss making.

And so much more.

This year, Adam Russell Dance & The Activity Bus are exploring possible venues for the full immersive touring exhibition 🎠

(Previously, artefacts from the exhibition have been displayed in various locarions in Carlisle)
