SLASH is a Hip Hop dance society, formed in 2007 by some ambitious, hard-working and creative individuals. We are a dance society dedicated to promoting and expanding the Hip Hop culture through innovation and creativity. We incorporate different styles such as locking/house/ commercial/ street/ wacking/ Ghetto and Hip Hop - Hence the name SLASH! We hold weekly open classes which aim to educate
individuals in all aspects of hiphop dance; whether they are beginners or not, we make sure to cater to the abilities we witness in class. We also host our very own Hip Hop workshop during the year with top choreographers from all over the UK, as well as performing in clubs, the student's union and various other events around Cardiff. Furthermore, we take part in a range of competitions during the year such as the 'Go Hard or Go Home' competition at Nottingham Trent University. We are proud to say we won Best Small Society and Best Go Global Performance at the 2011 and 2012 Society Awards and Best Small Event at the 2013 Awards.
