Polly & Simon Photography UK wedding photographers working together to capture natural moments that beautifully tell the story When you book us, you get a team.

We believe that a big factor in the quality of wedding photography is the relationship between the couple and their photographers. We always like to meet up with you before your day, in order to not only discuss the plans face-to-face, but also to begin to develop our working relationship. It’s not a myth that you will probably spend more time with us on your wedding day than with each other! With

that said, we feel that it’s important that you know a little about us…

Polly is a big fan of animals, Radiohead, and Icelandic landscapes. Besides weddings, her work has recently seen her photograph the northern lights over Wales, official visits by royalty, promotional shots for theatre productions, and some of the best gigs she’s ever experienced (and there have been a lot!). Her work has been featured in both UK and international magazines and newspapers, as well as on album artwork for artists in the Welsh music scene. After graduating university, she was awarded the 2011 National Museum Wales Photographic Portrait Commission which saw her photograph fashion designer Julien MacDonald in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery. Like Polly, Simon photographs a wide variety of things including music, portraits, and roller derby. Recent highlights have included album covers for Cardiff-based artists such as The School and Samoans, and he has particularly enjoyed being involved in the BBC Horizons / Gorwelion project which showcases twelve unsigned artists to new and wider audiences. His work has appeared in places such as NME, Rock Sound, and The Guardian. Simon enjoys playing basketball and badminton, and has had a bit of a soft spot for Scandinavia since he was a boy. The two of us first met in February 2011 at a gig, when we were both photographing the Cardiff leg of the NME Awards Tour. That chance meeting led to us becoming close friends, and developed into a decision to partner up to photograph weddings. Since then our work has taken us all around the UK for some lovely weddings, location scouting trips, and the occasional all-you-can-eat buffet. Despite being based in South Wales, we love to work around the country whenever the opportunity arises (and hey, let's not limit ourselves to just the UK!). We don’t work as a first shooter and second shooter, we work equally to ensure that your day gets the quality of photos it deserves. If you are planning your wedding to reflect your own style and personality with a fine attention to detail, and would like it captured in a way that mixes photographic disciplines to create a collection of photographs which tell the story of your unique day, then please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you!

Happy Anniversary to Earam and Taimoor who got married with a big celebration at Bethnal Green Town Hall Hotel a year ago!

Family and friends traveled from all over to share their special day at this stunning venue, beautifully decorated on the day by Hazel Gardiner Design (who we noticed was back there working her magic a few weeks ago).

After the ceremony everyone was invited to play a Clue game with different rounds throughout the course of the day to ensure people stayed entertained until the evening, but with such a fun loving couple it would have been hard to not be entertained!

Congratulations both, we hope your first year of marriage has been everything you could have wished for!

One year ago today we had the joy of photographing Jenn & Ian's big day, which began in Southwark Register Office and turned into a party in East Dulwich Tavern, after the newlyweds and their guests took a short ride on an old Routemaster bus.

Their reception was beautifully decorated with flowers, bunting and their vintage tandem bike, to recognise the couple's love of cycling. There was also a cameo from a jar of Vegemite, as Jenn and her family are from Australia and many had flown over for the day.

The dancefloor was full all night with the couple being keen music enthusiasts - in fact our original connection came from meeting at gigs over the years!

Happy anniversary Jenn & Ian! We hope you've had a fantastic day.

Happy Anniversary to Andrew and Maggie, who got married a year ago today on a meltingly hot Friday afternoon in Richmond Park. It was a fantastic day for a wedding in such a lovely setting - with a cameo from some of the park's deer, a beautiful view across London, and a couple who didn't stop smiling all day!

There was one heck of a party as the sun set, featuring some Jimmy Buffett for Maggie's American family and friends, and some Super Furry Animals to represent Wales for Andrew's, followed by a singalong to Hey Jude to bring everyone together for the end of the night!

Happy Anniversary both, we hope your first year of marriage has been everything you could have hoped it would be!

We think it's fair to say that our biggest weakness as wedding photographers is keeping our social media up to date...!

We are currently excitedly planning for tomorrow's wedding in Bristol, and thought it was about time we shared some photos from months gone by.

Back in March we headed over to London to photograph the wedding of the lovely Charlotte and Laurence. They had a wonderful ceremony in the City Of London and their reception a short walk away. The walk between the venues offered some quintessentially London backdrops for photos, and the sight of the wedding party parading down the side of the Bank Of England made plenty of passers by smile!

Ceremony venue: St Stephen Walbrook
Reception venue: Hawksmoor

It's a year today since Jonathon and Sinead got married in the beautiful surroundings of Hestercombe Gardens in Taunton. It was such a brilliant day with this wonderful couple, with guests flying from all over to join in the celebrations. Here the happy pair were sharing a moment in the pergola, which looks stunning covered in the bright red Virginia Creeper. The day continued with one of the funniest best man's speeches we've ever witnessed (with a ventriloquist's puppet very accurately portraying the groom), some amazing food and the evening rounded off with plenty of dancing... It was a great way to end our wedding season!

Happy Anniversary both, we hope you've had a lovely weekend!

Happy Anniversary to Lucy and Leigh, married a year ago today at Normanton Church, Oakham. It was a beautiful setting for this stylish pair, with the church resting at the edge of Rutland Water, with their old red MG parked outside. As they left the church they high-fived their way through their guests (as an alternative to confetti) before taking the party to the George Hotel of Stamford, where guests stayed outside to enjoy the lovely weather and surroundings of the Monastery Garden, before dancing the night away!

Happy Anniversary both, we hope you're having a wonderful weekend celebrating!

Happy Anniversary to Sophie and Alex, married a year ago today!

It was a perfect day for their humanist ceremony, where the guests all joined in with a beautiful rendition of the Ben E King classic, Stand By Me, in the picturesque village of Myddfai in the Brecon Beacons.

The day was so full of warmth, it was obvious how important friends and family are to Sophie and Alex... they treated everyone to a Magnum after the wedding breakfast too!

The atmosphere was further enhanced in the evening as the dance floor was packed all night. There were some spectacular shapes being thrown, with the most impressive coming from Alex. As ever, we left everyone dancing the night away, grateful to have witnessed such a special occasion.

Congratulations both, we hope your first year of marriage has been as amazing and full of love as your wedding day!

What better way to finish off August than with a sunnier-than-sunny wedding with a super fun couple, lovely guests and fabulous entertainment?

After a beautiful ceremony, ice creams from Icicle Tricycle Wales, and wonderful speeches, we borrowed the newlyweds to take advantage of the golden sunset that we were gifted, before the evening reception kicked off with an enthusiastic ceilidh!

Congratulations Alison and Tom!

We're at a wedding today, but we'd like to wish Tom and Jane a very happy anniversary!

They got married at Bodleian Libraries on a pretty wet day in Oxford, but spirits were running high as people boarded the boat to their reception venue, The Isis Farmhouse, accompanied by the brilliant Hosen Brass.

Tom and Jane didn't stop smiling and laughing all day and that dramatic sky looked so good in the photos (see our post from after their wedding)!

Tom and Jane, Happy Anniversary...
We hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Anniversary to Rachel and Sean, married a year ago today at the lovely St Michael and all Angels Church, Tongwynlais!

After the ceremony and a lot of confetti, the guests all jumped onboard a Routemaster to make their way into Cardiff for the reception at the National Museum, where the father of the bride kicked off the evening with a touching speech in the French Impressionist gallery.

The heartfelt speeches continued after the wedding breakfast, where it was clear to see how much the bride and groom mean to their friends and family.

As ever, we left the newlyweds and their guests dancing the night away, this time in the wonderful marble surroundings of the museum.

Happy Anniversary, both! We hope you have a brilliant day!

Happy Anniversary to Felicity and Vivek, married a year ago today on a beautifully sunny day at Keble College!

Everything about the day will live long in the memory of everyone there, from the beautiful buildings, the amazing dining hall and wedding breakfast, and the pride and love with which everyone spoke about each other during the speeches...
..to the party!

After spending a day in such wonderfully historic surroundings the evening reception ended with a party for the ages! Guests were absolutely going for it, led by the newlyweds and their DJ Liv Knight.

Felicity and Vivek, we hope you've had a fantastic first year of marriage and long may it continue!
