We’re thrilled that WNO Head of Wigs and Make-up Sian McCabe won the Hair and Make Up Design Award at the Association of British Theatre Technicians awards.

The award was presented yesterday at Alexandra Palace during the ABTT Annual Theatre Show recognising Sian’s exceptional skill, artistry and dedication, ensuring every performer takes the stage with confidence.

We were pleased to welcome REDSEAM and Vere VR for R&D exploring how digital and XR technologies can shape the future of live performance.

Adele Thomas and Sarah Crabtree said:
“Collaborating with the imaginative teams at REDSEAM and VR has been an inspiring opportunity to experiment with how large-scale live performance can translate into digital and immersive environments. Projects like this allow us to combine artistic excellence with technological innovation and playfulness, helping us reimagine how opera can reach and engage audiences now and in the future.”

This is just a glimpse of the kind of bold, exploratory work you can expect from our Boiler Room projects in the future.
