Live Guides Wanted

We are looking for 'Live Art Guides’ to work on in Llanelli Town Centre on the 26th January 2013
between 2pm and 10pm to support a live light and sound public engagement event. The Live Art
Guides will be involved in interpreting the event and working with the public to
make LightingUpTime and exciting and informative experience for residents and visitors to Llanelli town
centre.

Individuals will be required to familiarise themselves thoroughly with the artwork and the cultural
context of the work in the wider regeneration scheme. Training will be provided on the 26th January
and further information will be forwarded to all Live Art Guides via email on the 18th January 2013.
This is a voluntary position, however we believe that this opportunity will offer you invaluable
experience of working on a contemporary art project in the public realm. You will also be supplied
with a high-visibility vest and refreshments.

Silkscreen Workshop with Artist & Director of the PMP Pete Williams
Saturday 1st December 2012

A one day introductory workshop to develop the basis of this popular process. This workshop is open to all and offers an opportunity to work toward a number of possible outcomes.
The Day will include: Degreasing and prepping the Screen. Creating a photo and a hand drawn stencil. Photo application using the exposure unit with basic colour mixing and paper selection(including use of thesilkscreen table and proof printing). Basic materials such as the screen, ink, acetate and proofing paper are included.
Three Colour Plate Etching Workshops with Printmaker Issie Wise Saturday 8th December 2012
The Day will include: Printing with process colours,in etching workshop. This workshop will teach you to layer etchings and create the illusion of a three dimensional image. This simple but effect process driven procedure produces ethereal imagery and can generate amazingly varied results.
Collagraph Workshop with Printmaker Carla Shepherd Saturday 15th December 2012
This hands-on approach to printmaking will allow you to create wonderful imagery using a range of materials to create tone and texture. This process gives a lot of freedom to explore other techniques within it, such as dry point, which helps create a complex array of marks and really allows you to play within the depths of more than one printmaking area at a time. This is a basic technique with great results.
Please can all participants book in advance to secure their place, as classes tend to fill up very quickly. Places are restricted to just six to allow individuals more time to use the facilities provided.
*Specialist paper and a range of inks are available to purchase at the studio*.
