Preparation for a big Pond job tomorrow!

Josh and I will be up early and working hard to transform this beautiful pond for our new customers in Ponthir Newport.

The koi in this pond are big so it is important to make sure that the process goes smoothly !

Good morning everyone.

Its the beginning of a new working week and that means one thing Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales aquarium!

What a way to start the week keeping this beautiful aquarium up to the highest of standards, and getting to chat to all the staff and families along the way, thats why I have the best job ever !

Good morning everybody.

Yesterday we visited a new customer named Lewis.

He had contacted Mikeys Aquatic Services seeking some guidance and possible maintenance for this beautiful aquarium.

When we met Lewis for our initial consultation it was obvious that the aquarium had everything it needed to look amazing, but it just needed a little bit of organisational structure.

Lewis kindly gave us the opportunity to give his aquarium a restructure and this was the end result!

We have now been booked in for regular maintenance for not this but a second aquarium that he would like converted to a marine eco system, so keep an eye on the page for progress photos of that aquarium in the near future !

Good morning everybody.

Yesterday we took a trip to Porthkerry to visit one of our regular customers named Sue, she was one of our first customers and we are very grateful!

First took on her aquarium there was a lot of work involved to get it back to the standard you can see today.

Here are some of the tasks that we have completed since after this aquarium.

Reconditioned the FX6 external filter with a new motor system✔️

Upgraded lighting system✔️

Restocked aquarium with suitable fish ✔️

Regular deep clean on a fortnightly basis ✔️

Full spectrum water testing each visit ✔️

Deep algae and substrate cleaning ✔️

We had a great surprise this week during our maintenance visit when we noticed lots and lots of babies!

So the next time you visit, be sure to take a look to see how many you can spot!

We have beautiful Baby fish at the Noah's Ark Children's Hospital for Wales aquarium !🎉

During my visit this week, I noticed that the aquarium has new residence…

Lots of baby Molly fish!

Good morning everybody

I have a confession. I forgot to take the AFTER photos after had been filled and the filter system was up and running🤦🏼‍♂️

But the progress photos I do have do hopefully reflect a great transformation and also demonstrate the attention to detail that we give each and every pond we care for !

This customer also had the complication of that fact that she had a fairly slow leak (before we attended) so while we were there we searched for anything that might be the reason for this and found a little tear which we also repaired !

During this visit we completed the following tasks.

Traced a small tear in pond which was responsible for a continued slow leak and repaired ✔️

Full spectrum master kit water Test ✔️

Pond completely drained ✔️

Pond gently pressure washed and scrubbed✔️

Return pump cleaned and serviced ✔️

All three chambers of waterfall feature drainned, scrubbed, pressure washed and cleaned✔️

Every inch of the pond has been pond vacummed✔️

Pond refilled and water treated with bacteria and water conditioner✔️

Surrounding overcome area of Garden cleared of weeds and growth✔️

Even though we are extremely busy with Pond work at the moment, we still have space, so if you are considering having your Pond maintained before the autumn kicks in, feel free to give us a call for an informal discussion.

So today we are in Cowbridge looking after New Customer, who has this lovely little comment that just needs some TLC.
