3rd Monday Cardiff Folk Sessions Monthly folk song session in central Cardiff. All forms of music welcome especially folk, & partici We meet the 3rd Monday of every month.
8pm prompt!

Upstairs at 29 Park Place
CF10 3BA
(roughly opposite the museum)

This is an informal round-the-room session, totally acoustic, where all musical forms are welcome, but especially folk (traditional and "in-the-tradition") and participative (e.g. choruses and refrains). Bring your instruments of choice, although expect quite a lot of unaccompanied singing, too.

29 Park Place is a newish pub (prev

iously known as Incognito) serving great food. There is a small bar in the function room, and a lovely ambience. Parking
There's free parking from 8pm on Park Place.

Hi all,

I'm sure we are all missing making music and having a few drinks together. 🎶🎻🍷🍺

I have been thinking about hosting these sessions online - I know it works well for other clubs.

It would be over Zoom (password protected) & I'd have to charge a small fee of £4 as it's a lot of work to set up and promote. We'd need at least 10 people to make it work - so who would be up for that?

Other than that it would be the same format as has become the tradition - around the room, all offerings welcomed.

Ww would not need to have the emphasis on choruses and participation because its not really possible to sing in sync online - the bonus is that frees you up to bring anything of your choice.

Good evening and welcome to the first ever online 3rd Monday Folk evening! An evening with a difference, but one that will hopefully turn up some fabulous folk contributions!

Please start thinking about what you might like to share to the page, from 8pm onwards. Anyone having difficulty just call me or message the page.

This could be;

1. A recording of you singing or playing

2. A link to a YouTube video - something you love and want to share with everyone.

3. A story, a poem, a meme

4. A FaceBook LIVE session. For the experienced FaceBook users and the daring!

Post your contributions to the page as a visitor and I will share for all to see.

It is looking like a low turnout this month due to the current situation - I've had apologies from several regulars.

So we're cancelling the session at the Rummer Tavern this month.

However it would be AMAZING to do something virtual instead.

Please post your musical offerings to the page - either audio or video, and I will showcase them.

Let's make something of the 3rd Monday from the comfort of our own homes!

If anyone doesn't know how to make and post a video do let me know because almost ALL of us have the technical capability via our smartphones.
