Starts 30th September, then weekly on Wednesdays 7-8.30pm until 4th November.
Bookings close on 15th September. Link in bio!
In this 6-week masterclass, you will develop a variety of traditional thrown pot forms, learning expressive slip decoration and mark-making techniques from experienced practitioner, Hamish Symonds Hamish Symonds.
Go from wobbly to wheelie good, curious to confident, mudslinger to maker. Come away with a collection of items to decorate your home or give as gifts. You decide what you make, with guidance and techniques built up over the course.
This course will run if minimum number of attendees are met. There are up to 4 spaces, so you get plenty of 1-1 mentorship and your own wheel to work from.
Tickets are £340 for the whole course. Unstable Arts members get 20% off. This price INCLUDES firing a kiln-shelf (typically fits around 4-6 medium-sized items) of outcomes, guaranteed ready to collect by 7th December.
OPTIONAL BONUS: Want more time on the wheel? Optional add-on of a block of 6 practice hours 6-7pm Mondays for just £105 (£17.50 per session). These can only be booked as a block. The first session on 28th Sept will be run as a beginners throwing session to ease you into the course, and the rest will simply be time on the wheel.
SUPER SPECIAL EXTRA BONUS TIP: Because we also run ‘Beginner’s Throwing’ 7-8pm Mondays, you can choose to book these individual sessions on the day (if available), or in advance for £22 per session, turning your Monday practice hour into 2 hours!
Unstable Arts is an accessible, queer-owned art space in Roath. It benefits from step-free entry, accessible loo and kitchenette. A warm and friendly space for makers to develop their craft. Located at 1b Upper Kincraig St, CF24 3HA.
