Looking for plans this Saturday? Same. January could use a little extra sparkle, so we thought—sod it, let’s add an EXTRA musical theatre night. Consider it an emergency pick-me-up.

This time it’s YOUR moment to shine—solo, duet, or full ensemble energy. Pick your power ballad, your tearjerker, your showstopper, and let Neil work his magic on the keys while YOU take your bow.

Choose from over 200 musical theatre classics, drop your name into the hat, and Neil will draw performers at random. Will it be YOUR callback?

Oh, and between all you stars in the making? There’ll be plenty of normal Jane’s Calamity mass singing-along fun too—like it’s closing night on Broadway.

Halloween, eat your heart out. Real ones know the first Thursday of October is the dress up event of the year! 🎹 So join us on 2/10 from 8pm

October is a very special month for our .calamity musical singalong night… it’s BIRTHDAY month 🎂
Every year we celebrate this occasion by having our usual epic night of musical theatre/disney/pop/juke box classics sung at the top of your lungs surrounded by like minded music lovers BUT with the added twist… DRESS UP and do so accordingly, characters from your favourite musical are actively encouraged and best dressed gets a special prize! 🏆

Thanks to everyone who came to our Sing a Song Showcase at Porter's Cardiff last night. So good to see so many people enjoying the great singers who performed!!

Morning everyone!!

So this week is our first Sing a Song Showcase at Porter's Cardiff, so we just wanted to explain a little about how it will work!

The idea of the night will be for you to get up on stage (on your own or in a small group) and sing a Musical Theatre song with Neil playing piano for you.

There will be lyrics for you, so don't worry if you don't know ALL the words - although having a vague idea of what the song goes like is always easier!!

Sign ups will start at 8.30, and you can pick any song from our list (see the image on this post).

At 9pm, we will have a few group songs to get warmed up (a la our regular Sing a Long nights) and then it's over to our sign ups!

Once you've signed up, you'll be added to a our random name picker, which as the name suggests, will pick names at random...Just to mix it up a bit and keep Neil on his toes!!

There'll be 3 sets throughout the evening, so plenty of opportunity to have a sing on the stage! We'll also do lots of group numbers, so even if you don't want to get up on stage, you'll still be able to sing.

An extra little JC outing this month. Look at the list, pick a song and if you are one of the people randomly chosen on the night, you get to stand on Porter's stage and sing with Neil accompanying you on piano.

Don't worry, Neil will help you if you need and there will be lyrics in front of you. Even if you don't fancy singing on your own, come and support the singers. We'll also be doing some of your sing-a-long favourites to get everyone warmed up!

Hi everyone!!

We're back for another night of singing Musical Theatre songs loudly without having to worry about upsetting the neighbours (provided we keep the singing to INSIDE!!). We start at 8pm at Porter's Cardiff on Thursday night. Come down and support this brilliant, one-of-a-kind venue by drinking, singing and having fun...seems like a pretty sweet deal to us!!
