Made in Roath

Made in Roath Pam Common Art Collective/madeinroath engaging with community and place through contemporary art practice. www.pamcommonartcollective.org

Made in Roath was conceived in June 2009 by a small group of Roath based artists who share a love of the arts with a love for their community. Since then, through the enthusiasm, generosity and creative vigour of the Roath (and wider) community, the project has evolved, and grown into an annual celebration of the arts in Cardiff. Made in Roath is committed to supporting the many local businesses a

nd initiatives who have worked in partnership with us and whose efforts help to make Roath the unique and wonderful place that it is, we also welcome new ideas and partners to work with – if you think you’d like to get involved, or would like to offer your support, please email us at [email protected]. Although we have several established Roath art venues involved, one of our primary aims is to take art out of the gallery and into the wider community, allowing a larger and broader audience to access the plethora of creative talent, skills and excellence in our neighbourhood and in Cardiff’s wider arts community.

We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part in our night walk for Santes Dwynwen in January. It was a joyous celebration of her story, with so many residents creating wonderful artworks for their windows, and with amazing singing and story telling from and the . Thanks also to for the beautiful kissing couples, for her gorgeous tea house installation, .studio for being such an excellent eel, for telling Dywnwen’s story so beautifully, to for the brilliant images, and to Vanessa at for so kindly hosting the kissing couples.

And special thanks to Climate Cooks for the delicious eats, and all the people who came along on the night, and of course to all the local wildlife for taking part….there’s still a few eels lurking in some CF24 front windows if you look hard enough.

With love from Pam x
