Ever wondered what a Forward Operating Base from Afghanistan looked like?

This weekend at Capel Military Show there’s a full FOB reconstruction being built, similar to what many of us experienced out there, and it’s being run by Afghan veterans.

This is still a work in progress, but I’m looking forward to seeing the finished thing and having a proper look around.

I’ll be there this weekend with Ground Sign, come over and say hello 👊

One of the many chances to meet veterans next week at FOB Herrick and Capel Military Show with first hand accounts of life out in Helmand. Pte Barney Scrivener - aged 19. 3 photos captured across a fighting Summer for 1 R Anglian. Aged 19 in April 2007 first few days in theatre through to the end of tour photo, about to embark on the CH47 from Sangin DC back to Camp Bastion at the end of Op Herrick 6. Meet him and the team and hear what he has gone on to achieve - legend!

One of the multiple functions of the Army Air Corps (AAC) across Op HERRICK was the provision of Mk7 & Mk9A airframes to support Operations. Come see the Lynx Mk7 that will be visiting the Show over the weekend and meet the aircrew and pilots that made this happen. If you don’t know how to identify a pilot, don’t worry they’ll tell you!
