Introducing Ester Ricci,

Ester is an artist working across sound, performance, and visual composition. Her practice focuses on the relationship between presence, perception, and minimal structures, often constructing subtle yet intense environments that invite deep listening and attention.
Through the use of voice, electronics, and spatial interventions, Ester develops pieces that operate between fragility and control, exploring the boundaries of sonic and performative expression. Her work often engages with reduction, repetition, and the poetics of time.
In live contexts, she creates intimate and precise situations where sound becomes both material and gesture.

About: Jesu is a multidisciplinary sound artist and performer whose work navigates the intersection of experimental music, electronic soundscapes, and embodied performance. His practice explores atmospheres, nocturnal textures, and immersive sonic environments, often integrating sound, body, and visual elements into cohesive live experiences.

With a background shaped by formal musical training and independent research, Jesu has developed a distinct language rooted in abstraction, spatial awareness, and emotional density. He has collaborated across disciplines with visual artists, performers, and collectives, extending his work into audiovisual pieces and installation formats.

His performances unfold as evolving sonic narratives, emphasizing tension, silence, and the physicality of sound.

'FREEDOM' is a participatory visual arts project that brings together community members, students, migrants, refugees to explore the meaning of freedom through creative expression.

Through a series of workshops, participants will create sculptural human figures representing a wide range of emotions connected to journeys, uncertainty, hope, resilience, and belonging.
The project creates space for voices that are often unheard of, encouraging dialogue, empathy, and a deeper understanding of the human experiences behind migration.

We invite everyone from the local community to take part, this project is about building a shared space where people from different backgrounds can reflect on freedom, express their thoughts, and actively contribute to a collective work of art.

The sculptures created during the workshops will form part of a public exhibition at the University of Kent, fostering connection, reflection, and conversation between communities.
