We have year-round sessions and workshops as well as a brand new Schools mailing list which we will be using to keep in touch about all of the amazing opportunities we will be providing for local children over the coming year.

Day 2 of Canterbury Children's Literature Festival brings all sorts of fun for all ages with it, and here are some of our favourites!

Pop in to storytime (its not every day you get to have stories with a BAFTA winning author), see some 'proper Shakespeare', play some bookish board games (we'll have at least 2 games running at all times - one for the littlest and one for the biggers), swap some books, discover amazing animal stories and hilarious, real life stories and how they are turned into fiction, join in with outdoor crafts and fart quizzes and so much more. A brilliant first day of Canterbury Children's Literature Festival schools programme yesterday, with poet Jonathan Sellars, James Turner and Nicola A Lewis visiting four primary and secondary schools in the local area, provided for free to schools as part of the festival.

Children got to do Improvised Poetry, create a spell spinner, and help draw a brilliant comic!

School events are running all week, leading up to the festival weekend of public events for all ages which starts on Friday.

Saturday is the annual and we are running a trail stop! Come and see us and be part of the Canterbury Storymakers all day tomorrow (Saturday 4th July) at . We will be running 2 activities that you can take part in, however old you are:

📚️ The Medieval Storymakers
Spin for a Canterbury setting, choose your medieval character, and then treasure hunt for the elements of a great story, putting them together with assistance from your imaginations, to make your very own book. Suitable for all ages, with assistance from an adult for the pre-readers.

📚️ The Canterbury Storymakers
We are thrilled to be running the storytelling element of the Canterbury Paper Tapestry, and we want you to come and add your stories of Canterbury (memories, stories you've been told, or ones that are completely made up!) in written or drawn form to our big, collaborative concertina book, to be part of the paper tapestry project and exhibition in the future...

Come along and get your trail stamp between 10am and 5pm on Saturday, and get your creative brains working!

Canterbury Children's Literature Festival is back in just TWO WEEKS! With 40+ events for everyone, of all ages, including stories in all of their forms, our festival is bigger than ever and filled to the brim with opportunities to get excited by stories. Everything is pay as you feel, and we've got free drop in events happening too.

Swipe to see the fantastic range of events we have for 0-5 year olds (although anyone older is welcome as well!), and scroll back through our grid to see some of the other incredible events we have for older children and teens from 10th - 12th July.

Join us at Canterbury Library, , , , , The Old Synagogue & Shirley Hall (with huge thanks to !), , and for a whole weekend of amazing stories, and incredible, interactive events.

It's only our 2nd year and we need your help to spread the word and tell everyone about the festival, so please share, tag friends etc etc etc!
