We offer an exciting and accessible introduction to the traditional music and dancing of the UK. Our workshops centre on the ‘ceilidh’, the traditional Gaelic gathering, featuring music, dancing and story- telling. The word ‘ceilidh’ comes from the Old Irish word for ‘companion’ and the dances are an excellent cross-curricular pathway between Dance, Music & PE, a great way to break down barriers a

nd build community spirit, as well as have lots of fun. The basic steps are easy to master and the music is energising, so it is suitable for all ages and abilities. Our musicians and callers are greatly experienced and hope to share their enthusiasm to inspire interest in the music they love to play. For music groups, we are happy to offer courses on traditional instruments and playing traditional music.
