Overlapping projects! Today an “in person” session with music mentor & vocal coach Georgia (aka ) to help prep me for recording the remaining 6 songs for the soundtrack for Project 4 - A Room of Our Own. A multi disciplinary project conceived in 2022, mostly recorded in 2023, film pilot brought out in 2024. Recording will happen in July (this year!). That will take it a step closer to completion and being set free.

Project 5-brand new songs and visual art in a brand new style-will take flight later this summer!

These projects are all music based (some with other things) and have happened in the last 10 years.

This weekend it is exactly 7 years since the release and launch of album no 2-The Window to My Soul-accompanied by a memoir of sorts and subsequently an extensive solo exhibition (more of that to follow another day.)

It was a cracker of an evening including a live performance of many of the songs, book readings and an in conversation between myself and broadcast journalist and myself. Held at the amazing in Faversham, Kent.

Fun fact. The concept for this multi media project was inspired by a gift I was given as a child-a box set of Alice in Wonderland. 4 “very solid” LPs and the book. Over the years the LPs had gone missing but prior to completing this project I was able to procure the exact items and reunite them with my book.

2026 marks 10 years since the release of my first album This Girl, This Woman on September 9th 2016. I won’t go into how writing an album came about other than that it was very unexpected-brought about my illness and the desire to fulfil some dreams. This short showreel was created for me for TGTW by back in 2017. (There is a longer version that explains my story more fully if you scroll through the link in my Bio-I particularly like that one!)

Since that first album there have been 2 more albums-The Window to My Soul with an associated memoir and exhibition; Freedom; a project, A Room of Our Own which is waiting in the wings and a bunch of singles. I am currently working on new songs and art to be released in late summer this year.

LIVE! All 5 songs that I wrote late last year and recorded in November are now OUT.

Project 5 (my 2026 creative adventure experimenting with new stuff including visual art and poetry is underway. A couple of the songs above were heavily influenced by classical pieces which was quite experimental in itself for me. Songs that I am working on right now that will be recorded in the summer will take me in yet another new direction.)

A huge thank you to .0 for all the instrumentation-live and electronic, his engineering and patience. Thanks to for coaxing me back to my writing and singing last summer after 6 months of poor health and total lack of creative motivation. Thanks to .storiesshort for the original photographic image and I hope she will forgive me for tampering so heavily with that for the artwork for the songs!!
