Really happy to say that my piece Eyes of the Endangered has now been submitted to this years Sketch for Survival 🤍

This drawing shows an endangered chimpanzee staring directly at the viewer. I created it using just three pencils on a black surface, using negative space to help create a feeling of sadness and connection. I wanted his expression to feel difficult to ignore.

Chimpanzees are listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List, with threats including habitat loss and poaching. Creating wildlife art like this is my way of helping bring attention to species that are slowly disappearing.

Feeling grateful to be part of something that supports both art and conservation 🌍🎨

All proceeds from Sketch for Survival go to their Campaign Fund which supports education and frontline conservation.

✨ The Quiet After ✨

There’s a silence in a home once a dog has gone. A stillness that stretches across a bed, a collar, a lead hanging untouched. That quiet is heavy, soft, and full of memory.

I finished this drawing yesterday, and even after hours of working, it still feels quiet in a way that words can barely touch.

It’s a simple scene: a dog’s bed, a collar, a lead hanging. No movement, no presence—just the echoes of what once was. I drew it with only three pencils on Fabriano Black Black paper, letting the shadows and the negative space do the storytelling. The light touches one side, revealing textures, but leaving much in shadow, because sometimes what we feel is in the absence, not the presence.

This piece is about loss. About the quiet that fills a home when the dog you loved is gone. The spaces where they used to rest, the corners they used to explore, the things they leave behind. And yet, even in that stillness, there is memory. There is love. There is the quiet, lingering presence of everything they meant to us.

I called it The Quiet After because that silence has a shape, a feeling, a weight. It’s not just the absence of sound—it’s the stillness after years of companionship, the pause after a life so full of energy and warmth.

If you’ve ever loved a dog, and had to say goodbye, I hope this drawing reaches you. I hope it reminds you that even in the stillness, even in the shadows, what remains is love. And sometimes, that quiet is enough.

This one is for them 💛

I didn’t draw the dog.

I drew the absence.

Watch until the end and tell me if you feel it too.

Three pencils. Black paper. Just light and shadow doing all the talking.

This is being submitted as an entry for the Dogs Edition by to Hearts 🐾

What would you keep forever?

A little behind the scenes of what I love doing in my spare time ✨

I spent the day at Kent Reflection Pool Hide with my camera, tucked away in the rain, photographing birds and wildlife.

Most of you know me for my colour pencil animal portraits… but this is another big part of me. I’m doing level 2 of my photography course at the moment and I head out whenever I can to practise, learn, and just be out in nature.

Lately I’ve started building up my own wildlife reference photos too, which feels like such an important step in my art journey. It means the drawings I create are inspired by moments I’ve actually witnessed.

So if you ever wonder what I’m doing when I’m not drawing… I’m probably outside, or now in a hide somewhere, slightly damp, waiting for a bird to land in the perfect spot. 🐦🌿

Always learning. Always improving. And absolutely loving it.

Still need a Valentine’s gift?
Don’t worry… I got you 💘

I’ll create a framed mini monochrome coloured pencil portrait of their favourite love… their pet! 🐾
Finished with their name, because it’s the little details that matter.

Dogs, cats, horses… if it has fur (or attitude), I’m in ✏️
A thoughtful, personal keepsake that lasts far longer than flowers 💐

• 1 Valentine space left
• £50 framed - local delivery or p&p extra
• DM me to book and I’ll take care of the rest 💕 💌
