This year Canterbury Music Club celebrates its 84th anniversary and to mark this amazing milestone it has arranged a programme of eight stunning concerts featuring artists of international standing.

The Amici Chorus and Orchestra will be joined by international artists in a performance of Haydn's glorious oratorio. The Creation.
Directed by Grenville Hancox, the chorus will be joined by Tamar File (soprano), Greg Tassell (pictured) (tenor) and Matthew Rose (bass).
The performance takes place at 3pm on Sunday, November 9 and will feature parts 1 and 2 orThe Creation and the final chorus from part 3.
It will be staged in the magnicient Colyer-Fergusson Hall at Kent University, Canterbury. This c oncert is especially sponsored by Norman and Christina Brisk
Tickets are £25, under-25s free.

Don't miss our first concert of the new season at 3pm on Sunday, September 28.
Called Vienna and the New World, the concert features piano duettists Marianne Kelly(pictured) and Heather Sargeson who present a programme of classic music especially written for four hands at one piano by Mozart, Schubert, Barber and Gershwin.
Fresh from Buxton Festival, the players have enjoyed a distinguished career of performing music for four hands at one piano..
Tickets are £25 full price from the Gulbenkian box office, free to students and under-25s. If you can't get to the concert then why not buy a ticket to watch the live stream .
The concert takes place at the fantastic Colyer-Fergusson Hall at Kent University, Canterbury.

We have published our full programme for our 84th season. Our great and varied monthly concerts run from September to April and feature string ensembles, singers, pianists and a baroque flute and harpsichord duo.
Our season of recitals ends with Kosmos Ensemble (pictured below) and every concert takes place in the magnificent Colyer-Fergusson Hall at Kent University in Canterbury.
Membership is £140 for all eight concerts or single concert tickets may be bought for £25 per concert.
If you can't get to one of our recitals then you can buy a ticket to watch the live stream.
And don't forget - parking is free for all our concerts at the university.

We have now finalised our new season of concerts - our 84th.
Included in the eight recitals on offer are a baroque flute and harpsichord, Haydn's Creation featuring Greg Tassell (pictured), the Tamesis String Quartet and Kosmos Ensemble.
Our new season starts on September 28 and finishes on April 19. All our concerts take place on a Sunday at 3pm in the fantastic Colyer-Fergusson Hall at Kent University.

Acclaimed British tenor and lieder/oratorio favourite James Gilchrist will join his long-established duo partner Anna Tilbrook for our final concert of the season at 3pm on Sunday, April 27.
They'll perform Franz Schubert's wonderful song cycle Die Schöne Müllerin (The Beautiful Miill Girl), with words by the poet Wilhelm Muller.
Experience the emotional journey of a young man as he falls in love with a miller’s daughter and is subject to joy and finally despair.
Following the performance of the 20 songs of the cycle, with words and translations to be projected, James will be available for discussions over light refreshments.
Tickets are available from the Gulbenkian box office on the day and if you can't get to the concert there are tickets to watch the live stream.
The concert takes place in the Colyer-Fergusson Hall, at Kent University, Canterbury.

Four young and exceptional musicians are giving our next concert at 3pm on Sunday, March 16.
Formed in 2020 at the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Kyan String Quartet brings together four musicians from the UK, the US, China, and France.
Bound by a shared love of chamber music and a deep commitment to performing, this young, ambitious and exciting group are a must-see ensemble.
The concert takes place in Colyer-Fergusson Hall at Kent University, Canterbury.
The programme features string quartets by Schubert, Mozart, Shostakovich, Beethoven and Caroline Shaw.

Our concert on Sunday, February 23 at 3pm is in memory of Anne Hancox and features songs that she loved, studied and performed.
The soloists are Linda Hirst (mezzo soprano/narrator),
Matthew Rose (bass/narrator) and Anna Tilbrook (piano/director)
In the first half they will perform songs by Vaughan Williams, Britten, Schubert, Faure and John Ireland, while the second half will be given over to Facade, with words by Edith Sitwell and music by William Walton.
Grand Mansions Collective, a group of musicians with connections to Canterbury Chrust Church University, will accompany the performers.
The programme reflects the passion Anne Hancox displayed for the connection between words and music, including songs that she loved, studied and performed whilst the Sitwell texts she narrated on three occasions in performances that she shared with her husband Grenville.
The concert takes place in the stunning Colyer-Fergusson Hall at Kent University, Canterbury.

Songs by Vaughan Williams, Schubert and Britten will form the first half of our next concert on Sunday, February 23 at 3pm.

Performed by Matthew Rose (bass), Linda Hirst (mezzo soprano) and accompanied by Anna Tilbrook on piano, the concert takes place in the stunning Colyer-Fergusson Hall at Kent University, Canterbury.

After the interval the singers and pianist will perform Edith Sitwell and William Walton's Facade Suite, with The Grand Mansions Ensemble, a group of professional musicians, all of whom were students at Canterbury Christ Church University.

Sitwell’s “shocking” nonsense poems, spoken to the rhythm of Walton’s specially composed dramatic music, were first performed in 1923.

Calling all singers aged 16 to 25. The Passaggio Vocal Award takes place in Gillingham, Kent on Saturday, April 12 and the deadline for entries is Friday, February 14.
Organised in partnership with Kent and Medway Young Musicians' Trust, the award carries prize money of up to £200 and the winner will perform at next year’s masterclass.

Join us this Sunday, December 15, at 3pm as we welcome The Festive Chorale, directed by Grenville Hancox and harpist Alex Rider for a performance of Britten's A Ceremony of Carols.
Before that Alex will present a first half of largely French music for solo harp, including works by Saint-Saens, Marcel Tournier and Marcel Roussseau.
Our Christmas concert is at the stunning Colyer-Fergusson hall at Kent University, Canterbury.
Alexander studied with Grenville Hancox at Canterbury Christ Church University, Gabriella Dall’Olio and Frances Kelly and was then a scholarship student of Imogen Barford at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. From there he graduated with distinction and was subsequently honoured with a Guildhall Artists’ fellowship.
He is noted for his affinity with French music at the turn of the last century, and for his work on original instruments of the period.
