I would like to invite you,to my School of Dance page. I offer dance tuition, social events, dinner dances and dance holidays. My dancing career began at the age of seven with the Chase School of Dancing in Cannock run by Mike & Pat Cooper. I competed all over the country and started teaching in 1983. I danced professionally with John Rainey and we were the North of England Professional Old Time
Champions in 1987 and finished 3rd in the British Old Time/Modern Sequence championships. My first adjudicating position was at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall. The Midlands Old time/Modern sequence championships hosted by former British Champions Roy & Lynda Muldoon. Initially the dance school trained medallists and competitors, the first major victory within the school, trained by Barry Earnshaw & myself was in 1992 when Kathryn Turner & Emma-Jayne Powell won the British all-girl Championships at the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool. Since then the school has boasted many champions along the way and formed life long friendships. More recently the school has concentrated on the social side of dancing, hosting dances throughout the Midlands area from afternoon tea dances to Evening Balls. Gemma Aldus is qualified in ISTD/UKA and has danced for the school since a small child. She holds British titles in Old Time/Modern Sequence & Freestyle. Gemma assists in teaching at evening classes. I am pleased to announce Richard & Debbie as key members to our successful school. Richards background is in modern jive & ceroc bringing with him a wealth of knowledge in this field. He has also competed in classical sequence formation team dancing. Anyone interested in the dance genre of modern jive, then Richard is the guy to speak too. Debbie has been dancing since a child. Firstly passing medals in Old Time, Modern Sequence and Latin Sequence with the ISTD, trained by myself and Barry Earnshaw. She has competed all over the country in Ballroom & classical sequence winning many titles along the way bringing a wealth of knowledge in all branches. Dancing is a fabulous hobby enabling us to keep fit, enjoy the music and the dancing and to make friends and have a fun time. Remember, Dancing is a past time - Enjoy X
